Me and three of my friends boarded the Marion hall elevator for this fluxus. We were equipped with a repertoire of songs that would entertain our fellow riders. We stayed in the elevator in silence. As soon as the first unsuspecting passengers boarded the elevator and the doors closed we started singing Up Up & Away by Kid Cudi, with straight faces, almost as if it wasn’t us who were singing, but instead actual elevator music.
Fluxus #3:
1. Board Elevator.
2. Wait for someone else to board elevator.
3. Start singing.
Interview with Elizabeth Brydges (one of the singers):
Q. How did you like singing on the elevator?— A. It was hilarious and really hard not to laugh and stay in character… I could tell the other people felt really awkward.
Q. Do you think the passengers found our version of elevator music to be more entertaining then the traditional version?—- A. Ohhh yeah, i think we were highly entertaining, definitely made an impression.
Q. Were you happy to get off the elevator? —- A. Kind of…. just because i wanted to laugh soo bad. I don’t think i wanted to get off as bad as the people who didn’t know what was going on though did.
Q. Would you do it again?— A. Definitely…. I was hoping one of the passengers would start singing along with us but nobody did, maybe if we did it again someone would.
5.
1. Put in money.
2. Make a selection.
